Most car and camps are based on wagons, but pickups can be no less good for those who like to live outside the network for several days. This is what the Japanese company Direct Cars thought, creating an BR75 Adventure Camper SUV, created on the basis of Toyota Hilux.
The BR75 was created on the basis of the Toyota pickup with a double cabin, replacing the rear platform with a large design with a longer rear overhang and the expansion of the aerodynamic shape above the cab. As a result, five passengers can still accommodate in Kemper, and two adults and two children can accommodate behind.
The design of the rear superstructure is well integrated with a donor car, which in this case is a strong set of GR Sport from Hilux. Another interesting feature is that, in addition to the side door of the usual size and a large rear door, you can get into the residential area from the car’s cab. This means that you do not have to go out to move forward and backward, which is ideal in bad weather or at night.
Entering the rear compartment, you will plunge into the luxurious atmosphere thanks to wooden panels, tile floor and internal lighting. The first thing that catches your eye is a large dining area with a folding table and two sites for sitting. The lifting part of the roof allows you to stand still and passes the inside more natural light during the day.
The dining area is easily transformed into a double bed with a length of 2300 mm (90.6 inches), suitable for adults, and a second folding bed 1660 mm long (65.3 inches) can be deployed above the car’s cabin, freeing a place for two children. There are also windows on each side and many compartments for storing things over them.
It is interesting that the residential area is also equipped with a full -sized home conditioning system, which allows users to maintain the optimum temperature regardless of weather conditions. If you are interested, the external block of the air conditioner is neatly placed under the rear bumper. All amenities can be controlled using a sensor panel in the form of a tablet.
And the last, but no less important: the car also has a second room behind. There you will find a shower watering can, a waterproof floor with a drain, a sink, a mirror, a sliding table and several additional departments for storing things. Access to this small room is possible both from the inside and outside the car, and the waterproof floor allows you to store wet or dirty clothes and equipment.
It is good that the BR75 can support all these functions even in autonomous mode. This was made possible thanks to a large secondary battery with a capacity of 200 Ah, which can be charged during driving, as well as through the solar panels installed on the roof with a capacity of 200 W. The car is equipped with a 85 -liter water tank, another tank for clean water at 20 liters and a drain tank of 45 liters. Finally, in addition to sockets inside the residential area, there are two external sockets for various electronic devices from behind.
Direct Cars came up with a cunning way to use the design of the rear platform, divorced from the original pickupa, turning it into a separate trailer. Thus, the back of the Hilux can be attached to the trailer frame with the wheels of smaller diameter so that it can be towed by BR75, providing more luggage and equipment space. The order made to order can be completed by spare parts developed for Hilux, which will make it more practical.
