Day 6 of 155: First person to hike Madagascar’s length.

Notes from the journal: This was eerie, there were 3-4 people walking towards us carrying baskets/buckets of clothing and as soon as they spotted me, they dropped everything and SPRINTED in the opposite direction 😳

I’ve been warned about the south of Madagascar, in fact, many locals in the capital city advised me against venturing south and one of the ladies was telling me her uncle was shot only one week earlier.
The bandits can cause havoc down here and the military are pretty corrupt, so it’s a very sensitive time to be here and I’m trying to avoid being caught in the middle of this uproar 😬
