The Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) has vowed to prioritise athletes in its plans for the next four years, according to re-appointed General Secretary, James Cole.
Speaking after the AAG's Annual General Meeting and election of officers on Sunday, Cole emphasised that the new administration, which features a blend of experienced and new officials, will place athletes at the heart of its strategy.
The election, which followed a period of internal disputes, saw Sheryl Hermonstine being elected as President, replacing the long-serving Aubrey Hutson.
The other elected officials were Mark Scott (First Vice President), Mayfield Taylor-Trim (Second Vice President), Dwayne Carter (Treasurer), and Niall Stanton (Assistant Treasurer).
The Committee Members are Dr. Ariane Mangar, Thelson Williams, Tyrone Smith, Osafo Dos Santos and Towanna McCalmon. The new executive also appointed Kenisha Headley as the Assistant General Secretary.
