Chemicals in nail gel polishes, methacrylates or HEMA, are a common cause of contact allergy presenting as rash on face, neck, chest or hands and sometimes involving loss of the nails. Gel nail allergy can occur suddenly even after years of at home and salon manicures. These chemicals can also cause worsening of asthma, and issues with getting dental or orthopedic surgeries in the future.
