NEW RV Toyota Hilux CHAMP - Toyota VAN camping

5 ways to turn a pickup truck into a camper
In the modern world, people increasingly prefer to spend their holidays not at the usual resorts, but traveling to the most remote corners of the planet. And one of the most convenient and comfortable ways to travel is a camper based on an SUV such as a pickup truck. Thanks to the high ground clearance, large wheels and all-wheel drive system, such a car is able to overcome any obstacles in its path. You can safely go to the mountains, cross fords and even conquer off-road conditions - your motorhome will go anywhere where only a car can go. They are ideal for those who love active recreation, and allow you to enjoy the beauty of nature without giving up the comfort of home.

5 ways to turn your pickup truck into a camper. Below we will tell you about each option.

1) Canopy camper
Such a camper is a multifunctional roomy storage system that includes a kitchen unit. On the roof of the kung is a folding tent. The kung is installed instead of the standard pickup body directly on the car frame. This option is suitable for those who prioritize the vehicle's cross-country ability, maintaining its off-road characteristics, and the ability to take a large amount of equipment with them. We can implement a canopy camper on the basis of any pickup truck.
2) Lightweight and compact camper in the back of a pickup truck
It is a camper insert in the back of a pickup truck. This model of the camper will be an excellent choice for those looking for a light and small camper: they are lower, shorter and lighter than other campers of our production and many other campers on the market. Its weight is only 400 kg. This module is designed for a comfortable stay of two travelers. At the same time, such a camper has a full kitchen, a dining area, a comfortable bed. It is possible to install a refrigerator and a toilet. At the moment, such a camper is only available for mid-size pickups (European) such as L200, Amarok, Hilux, Fullback, D-max, Navara, etc. 3) Camper in the back of a pickup truck for four travelers
This camper is also an insert in the back of a pickup truck. At the same time, it is more spacious than the previous model: four people can comfortably fit in such a camper. And of course, this camper has everything you need for comfortable travel: a full kitchen, a dining area, a comfortable bed. It is also possible to install a refrigerator and a toilet. Such a camper can be either with a lifting roof or with a solid one (alcove camper).
4) Camper installed on a pickup frame
This option is a residential module that is installed on the frame of a pickup truck instead of a body. The absence of a pickup body allows you to make a more voluminous and spacious living compartment, add a small isolated bathroom to it, make more space for storing and transporting things and equipment. The entrance can be implemented from any side. There are significantly more options with the internal layout and arrangement of elements than in a removable residential module. Such a camper can be either with a lifting roof or with a solid roof (alcove camper). Any pickup truck can be used as a wheelbase.
5) A full-fledged motorhome based on a pickup truck
This version of the camper is already a full-fledged motorhome. For such projects, it is advisable to use a two-row pickup truck and a solid (non-lifting) roof - this will allow you to build the most spacious motorhome. Such a house can be equipped with a full shower, a stationary toilet, a washing machine, an oven, a dishwasher, an air conditioner, heated floors and much more, which significantly increases the level of comfort of the motorhome. There are many options for finishing and arranging the interior space in such projects, you can create a completely individual solution that meets your needs and desires.
