The new Aston Martin Vantage is simply fantastic.

Looks. Power. Interior. Driving dynamics. Extremely expensive options. It has all of it.

The AMG sourced 4.0L TT V8 is now up to 656 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, an enormous 153 hp increase compared to the previous iteration, courtesy of larger turbos. 0-60 in 3.4s (RWD only). 202 mph top speed. 8-speed ZF auto w/ retuned calibration. Shortened final drive ratio.

It’s also stiffer than before, with fancy adaptive dampers, e-diff, 9 position TC and enormously wide 325/30R21 Michelin PSS5 tires out back. This thing is a ballistic rocket ship in a straight line, and incredibly fun to take turns, properly getting to supercar levels instead of being a luxury GT sports car like before.

I love the new styling, the front end reminds me of a baby One-77 and it’s so much wider, providing a 29% increase in mass airflow for cooling. This paint was a bit ridiculous at $13,600 but it certainly turned heads. Between the new Vantage, DB12 and Vanquish, I think this one is the prettiest to look at.

The interior also brings the new Aston in-house infotainment that was introduced in the DB12, which looks very nice but I experienced some minor software glitches that would resolve themselves. It is phenomenal that you still have physical buttons for all sorts of controls, and these amazing knurled metal rollers that are super satisfying to feel and use.

This specific press car was optioned to an alarmingly expensive $287k, with a base price of $191k. Carbon Pack Upper and Lower are $18k combined, Cosmopolitan Yellow paint is $13.6k, B&W sound system is $10k, CCBs are $14.4k.

A 992 Turbo S is faster 0-60, an Arturo is a little more exotic with the carbon tub and butterfly doors, a Bentley CGT is more luxurious, but I personally feel that the new Vantage checks so many boxes that its the one I would want to own. But since I am a couple tax brackets too low to be shopping for one of these new, I will wait a couple years and see where prices settle lol.
