Amy Sanchez Student Feature - From beauty advent calendars to launching her own vegan beauty brand

Meet graduate Amy, a 42-year-old mother from Buckinghamshire, UK. She had been working in marketing for most of her career. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she had a moment of realization that she wanted to do something else with her life.

She had also recently turned vegan, she realized that finding good quality, effective vegan skincare products was harder than she thought. She assumed that if a product was labeled as cruelty-free, it was probably vegan, but she soon discovered that this was not always the case. Amy became concerned that the products she was using might still contain animal products. The market for vegan skincare products was limited, and the options for her nine-year-old daughter, who had suffered from dry skin since birth, were even more limited.

"I was self-taught through a lot of trial and error, reading books and articles online. But it was difficult to know what information was trustworthy, and I was making a lot of mistakes," Amy explains.
