Good analysis, especially the point about this phone landing in a strange no-man's-land between smart and dumbphones. Subbed!
I miss the older slider phones with the physical qwerty keypads. Those were incredible feeling. You could text without looking at the phone, and the tactile response *chefs kiss*.
I still have this phone. nostalgic.
Used to be my dream phone 🤩
my phone in 2011-13 (a head turner phone): Most of my friends and office mates love my phone and I also love my phone. I hope Motorola creates a new version of this GEM.
I'd never heard of the Charm. Great video!
Used to own this one back when it came out, potato of a phone when it came to battery or actually running apps but loved the form factor
i think it's worth pointing out that Android itself supports a large amount of resolutions both landscape and portrait. the problem is the apps. some apps are written to expect certain screen resolutions rather than using the features in the android sdk which allow to offer layouts for all resolutions
As a Blackberry user that was jumping to android, I wanted this phone sooooo bad but it wasn’t on VW so I went with the Devour. My god Motoblur was so damn annoying
i like it. id buy a modernized version of this. its like a baby blackberry passport.
Motorola Charm, Dext/Cliq, Flipout, and Backflip were all MotoBlur phones that required a specific Blur data plan. However, by changing the APN settings, you could use the internet without needing the plan.
The looks and touchscreen is very similar to BlackBerry Q10.
you forgot the keybo.
Do the motorola droid next
bring this form factor back!
What apps were you able to get working on the charm? Does email still work? There are some refurbished flipouts available for purchase in my country, I imagine the two could run the same apps.
wish more brands copied this trackpad thing
10年前我有一部MB502,接通电话那一瞬间,感觉对方就在你身边一样,后来手机 直接黑屏再也不启动了🤣
fun video keep it up!
