That first sphere is fine for Firefly. Since all her dmg is based off break she can't make use of anything that isn't atk, spd, or BE. You won't have the atk conversion though without ascending.

Honestly, I think picking up that space cheese as you put it was a REALLY solid move that run, Firefly's E1 is truly insane on her. Ignoring 15% DEF with the Ultimate's Enhanced Skill while at the same time wiping out the Skill Point cost turns her into an absolute blender. And then we have the E2 straight up turning her into Seele
