The Greatest Knight has been on my TBR for YEARS! As has William Dalrymple...
Started typing out a comment about Agrippina then heard my review being read aloud 😂❤ one of the best recs I received last year! Thank you History Sickos 🤘🏻
Midnight in Chernobyl was a phenomenal read, Higginbothom's labor was SO evident and he wrote it so wonderfully - it never felt too heavy even during the science parts (but I do love science, so maybe that's why). Chernobyl happened when I was young, and I found myself being transported back in a way I didn't expect. Agrippina was a GREAT book I read solely on your recommendation and I'm SO glad I did. Emma Southon is such a fun writer and I'm so glad she focuses on women in ancient history. The Rise and Fall of Ancient Egypt is on my TBR for 2026 (yes, I have my TBR planned through the end of next year lol). I definitely want to read the Greatest Knight in the future - it looks great!
where do I begin!!! I have not been much of a reader, and I want to change that. I enjoy knowledge and being informed. I was in need of some guidance. That may sound silly but sometimes you "have to do you". I came across your content about a week ago. I can't say I watched it all, but I have watched enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you. First of all, my amazon cart is filled with your suggestions. I even have historical fantasy solely based on your recommendations. You have turned me into a dedicated watcher and hopefully a dedicated reader! Keep up the good work. I look forward to what you read and what you have to say about it!!!!!!
TikTok follower for awhile but new YouTube subscriber, absolute binged your channel mate!! Would love more pop history books for beginners, I’m new too history and would love me recs!
If the library of Alexandria was a person it would be you lol. Btw thanks for the constant post I’ve been getting into reading and the books you recommend are extremely good recommendations
YOOO I just signed up for bindery, gotta love a pay raise man :,)
Yay! I watch you on TikTok but just came across your YT page!!
speaking of biographies, I am looking forward to the upcoming new release "Jules Verne and the Invention of the Future". I love his work and utterly fascinated by him.. I need to know how he knew so much 😆 I know there are several bios out there already but this "synopsis" (and the cover) intrigued me the most. And it comes out on my birthday... happy birthday to me!
Michael, Josh @ Redfury just picked this book as his favorite non fiction of 2024. It sounds great: Midnight in Broad Daylight: A Japanese American Family Caught Between Two Worlds Book by Pamela Rotner Sakamoto
Hello, I just found these videos on YouTube being an avid bookworm!. Currently reading Peter Frankopan’s “The Earth Transformed an Untold History”! So worth the read, then I’ll be reading book 2 The Silk Roads and then Book 3.
Have you read any books from Philip Matyszak? I really liked them, especially the "24 hours in ancient ..." series (which multiple authors chimed in on, not just him, depending on which cvilization), but he also has nice books on Forgoten civilizations and Forgoten cities of ancient world. Also a recommend you might like (if not already read by you) is Three stones make a wall from Eric H. Cline.
Sir could you suggest us about books about Ottoman Empire
Crazy I just found your channel recently, and then a couple days later I see you get a shout out from Brett Kollmann. Always cool to see crossover interests. Maybe you could make a football history book. Recommendation video.
Thank you for all of your recommendations, I have a lot of books on my to read list now. I recommend you read “The Wolfe Age-The Vikings, the Anglo-Saxons and the Battle for the North Sea Empire “ by Tore Skeie. I am just finishing it and I think you would like it.
Hey can you recommend some books on American history? A beginners guide and a detailed one would be appreciated.
Once again excellent video. Do you have any World War Two reads or American civil war recommendations? Greatly appreciate you.
Hello, how do you find books to read and review? do writers send them to you?
