Trump says we don't need anything from Canada, then starts crying when we put a tariff on our electricity export

@LogicalComputing

There is a misunderstanding here. Premier Doug Ford only stood down on the electricity tax because he was promised that they would look at the USMCA agreement and work things out like civilized trade partners.
If this doesn't happen, all bets will be off, and the export tax will be back on.

@peterm4475

In schadenfreude news, the EU has just slapped a 50% tarrif on US whiskey. This, along with the Canadian boycott, indicates serious trouble for the Kentucky Bourbon industry.

@dacoach1759

Wow Canadians are so calm reasonable and easy to understand and talk to.

@Oliver10322

Canada's tariff income will be redistributed to the workers adversely effected. USA's tariff income will be used to insure another tax cut for the uber wealthy. Stark contrast there.

@sharonyoung3465

Telling images, Carney standing with aluminum workers - Trump standing with Elon ( & Billionaire Support Group)!

@ramdomguy846

Stop being soft and bringing up the Fentanyl issue, we ALL know that's not the issue. WAY MORE Fentanyl enters Canada from the US than the other way around. As a Canadian I have worked first hand with the Fentanyl crisis, and guess what, the majority is coming in from the US. It's humiliating that Trump DARES to use Fentanyl as an excuse and pretend like US is the victim of Canada. Using this issue to as an excuse for crippling Canada is absolutely disgusting and disrepectful for the unfortunate few who are truly victims.

@mioarac319

Canada should build its own refineries, instead of giving the US very cheap cruel oil that they process and export at high prices.

@SuperPyst

I would just like to take a second to say thank you to the Americans that are supporting us through out this really, really, really stupid trade war

@williamdeffendall2198

Why doesn't Canada, Mexico, and European Union countries open up free trade and crush Trumps tariffs threats!

@cricketwade6888

I'm sorry Canada for all that is happening; you can not reason with insanity. Go Canada, from a lifetime U.S.A. citizen(68 years).

@FYI003

To be clear, Premier Doug Ford of Ontario didn't back down.... Rather Doug Ford received a White House call that Lutnik wanted to talk....so, Doug held off on the 25% surcharge. 😊

@maggiereeder7121

Elbows up! This American stands with Canada and Mexico!

@johndowner2196

American beer cans are made of aluminum. US imports 60% of their aluminum from Canada. Trump putting 50% tariff on Canadian aluminum. Cheers πŸ˜…

Europe Stand with Canada πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

@KP-wt8qr

Listen to how Carney speaks compared to Trump it's actually like comparing an adult to a toddler.

@caldepen372

All Americans will soon learn how resilient we Canadians are in comparison to the US. We have safety nets, we have zero deductible healthcare for our families regardless of our job. We can weather a trade war far longer than the idlot in the witless house believes we can. 25-50% on aluminum? No problem, we have countries lining up to buy whatever aluminum you can no longer afford. Good luck!

@rossmacintosh5652

Another area where Canada could have significant leverage over America is water. The Columbia River is the largest river in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. It flows from Canada into Washington State. Currently Canada & the USA WORK TOGETHER to manage the flow. The system (including tributaries) has 400 dams for hydroelectricity, irrigation, flood control, and navigation. It accounts for 44 percent of the total hydroelectric generation in the USA. Without Canada's cooperation much of that power generation is at risk, as would be irrigation, flood control, and navigation. Pushing Canada too hard with unjustified tariffs could impact the ongoing cooperation the USA greatly relies upon. Trump likely has no real understanding of how important the Canada/USA relationship really is. That cooperation over water is just one of many important areas where both countries work together.

@blackwatertv7018

The difference between the Canadian government and American government right here. The money from the tariffs is going right back to the people, whereas Trump and Elon are going to pocket the money.

Neither of them are interested in making America great again or focusing on bettering American lives

@TheStuport

Trump calls his inconsistency..."Flexibility". I call it Orange Phony Baloney.
