Its got a nice vintage look to it. I would buy it but I have a Voightlander nokton 35 f1.4 and a Zeiss 55mm f1.8 so I think I am covered but I am impressed with the look so I might buy one and use it on an old body for "dangerous" areas of town. Nice!

@alainalain6454

hello. i just received my 40mm, but autofocus make a lot of noise, like something is wrong inside lens, it squeaks, high-pitched noise. i'm the only one ? my samyang or meike lens are way less noiser
thanks

@josegulias

Hi Pav, how this compares with the samyang 45 1.8 e mount? Two small and nice lenses...

@MrSimonj1970

I've got the Nikon mount version, it's such a nice lens! I agree it's got a slightly vintage look - I didn't like the Nikon 40mm and returned it, but this is definitely a keeper. It's got a charm that you don't often find in lenses at any price, let alone £125! I've already got their 85 and plan on getting the 20mm next for a nice trip. Great review, cheers!

@SEOULFILM

Does autofocus (AF) noise occur during video recording?

@gvz1538

Pav, nice review!! Hopefully Viltrox will offer this lens in an L-Mount in the not too distant future 🙂

@seasideshutterworx

Already have the Sony 40mm. I have the 16mm Viltrox and it's fantastic just wish Viltrox will start releasing faster lenses. There's a 135mm 1.8 that's been "on its way" for a very long time now
