I love it when people come up to you, you ask their name, then you use it in saying it's nice to meet you! A great way to make your fans feel special!
"This is one of the first Hummels and it's from the 70's".... which means it's not even close to one of the first hummels. WWII soldiers would send them home as gifts (they were already well established in Europe by then). Back before the internet and eBay, people had no idea how many. There actually were in existence, and they thought they were much rarer than they really were. When people saw huge values placed on them, everybody listed theirs for sale, and the market dropped like a lead weight. So, your Beanie Baby remark was actually spot on.
When a homeowner refers to her purses as people "this guy expands...this guy is so cute" she has a personal relationship with them. Taking it out of their death gripped hands for cheap will be very difficult! Congratulations.
I love it when they talk big and you call them on it. The one woman was full of it and she got caught lying about her piece. Oh well, nice finds. Happy shopping.๐โค
Always blows my mind when people tell you how they need to get rid of their stuff but hold firm on pricing it too high for people to buy.
I love you guys together. Mattโs so gentle and kind. Kay, a funny, beautiful lady. โค๏ธ๐
You two have such fun together and you are so kind especially when seller throws out outlandish prices
I'm glad y'all grabbed the Longchamp bag. The Le Pliage are especially popular because they fold up so they're easy to take on the go. They're even more popular in Europe. Also, it's common for that style to have corner wear. Longchamp fans know that so they still sell. They are considered luxury, so even if you see some of their leather bags don't pass them by without at least looking them up. Hummel is one of those collectibles where the value has gone down significantly, but it can still be worth looking up. Some pieces might be more valuable than others and the market fluctuates. So, if you can get a good deal when the market is high it might be worth your time.
I often wonder if someone watches a video and says, โOMG, Bob, remember that couple that bought that flatware set for $5? They sold it for $150!โ Hahaha.
Just so you know the Longchamp bag is French and it pronounced Longshomp. There is a horse racetrack where they run the top horse race on the flat in Europe each year, the Prix De lโArc de Triomphe, which is comparable to your Kentucky Derby but on grass ๐๐ Kathryn from the UK
lollolol....The grace you gave the Hummel expert was priceless.
The quilt top has value in the fact that it's entirely hand folded and stitched around each hexagon (paper). The process is called English Paper Piecing.
Oh the weather house from Germany brings back childhood memories. It is so accurate too. I was memorized by it as a child 60 years ago.
You two are so kind to little old ladies (like me LOL) who think things like Hummel pottery is still valuable, which, sadly, is not. You conduct yourselves with kindness and most of all, good humor.
There were ALOTTA Fun Moments in this One! People are Soo Peculiar & You 2 know how to have FUN through it all! Matt is the BEST Negotiator- - I love his STYLEโฆ Keep Doing YOU- Youโre a Dynamic Duo ๐ค
I just love people that say they need to get rid of there stuff right after they tell you a ebay price for it
For the quilt you guys should buy those suction bags to reduce space maybe weight. They have hand held pumps or you can use the suction machine from a vacuum at the location you guys stay at. Just an idea. Even with a regular trash bag you can use. ๐
Oh my goodness @HomeSchoolingPicker you found some really cute things. But those tiny Vibram five finger shoes were the absolute sweetest little thing! Matt has a pretty good eye! Better keep him! ๐
God bless your soul Kayla, the lady was invading your personal space, my aniexty when been through the roof. Nice finds, always a good thung seeing you and Matt ๐!
