Couldn't agree more and make sure you get diagnosed by a professional who understands your circumstances or is at least taking you serious! I once had to deal with a know-it-all psychiatrist who didn't even want to check the evidence I was willing to provide because in his head he already had formed his wrong diagnosis!
This is so real. If you think you have a chance on being… or having… you should get advice from a professional
Thank you!!
Definitely finding the right doctor is important, as well. A doctor who will listen to you and not jump to conclusions or dismiss the symptoms you give them as something else. But diagnoses are the only way to get help through insurance. I know people may not want to be 'labeled' but those labels help your doctor to submit bills to your insurance to get you more help and more services. Just because you get diagnosed doesn't mean you have to share it with the world.
You're great, but can we get more professionals who actually know their profession then? Found out all my 'stuff' well before anyone. Been misdiagnosed by professionals for years. You know you best, but don't feel attached to the label, you're not you're labels, don't limit yourselves to them ❤
How long does it roughly take to get a diagnosis? And do they only tell you if you ask? I have some suspicions about myself.
Besides being obvious the implication that a doctor provides correct diagnosis is not supported by the facts.
Through my grade school years til Junior year of high school I was n stimulants because mom thought I had ADHD when really it’s Autism like symptoms due to infancy brain damage. I felt like I couldn’t retain much information on stimulants. I stay away from coffee because caffeine is a stimulant and cognitively caffeine is the same as Adderall to me.
