Watching JF in this show breaks my heart a little. With the exception of his character breaks on SNL, he was funny and I personally enjoyed him in screen, it didn’t hurt that he was easy in the eyes. But that was 21 years ago. In his attempt to be all things to everyone and play it woefully safe, he’s just plain goofy now. This doesn’t work for a man looking down the birthday barrel at 51. It’s tragic & sad and makes for very awkward viewing. I’ve never seen his show, only excerpts on YT. Age-wise, I’m not a part of his target demo, but even if I were, I’d still find Fallon’s incarnation of “The Tonight Show”, largely unwatchable.
