My Kenmore washer and dryer is almost 25 yrs old and still works fine for now. Thank you because I like basic stuff that will last. ❤️
Get a Speed Queen. Mine is almost five years old with heavy use and it's a tank!! Not a sleek machine but cleans well and very quiet which I appreciate 😀
When it comes to appliances like washers, dryers, or refrigerators, the simplier the better.
We have been using a Samsung front loader for over ten years without issue. We just replaced it with a new Samsung and our daughter is using the old one. Front loaders use less water which is great for a septic system. Keep the door and the detergent box open when not in use and you wont have mold.
We have an LG front loader for 15 years, no problems. Aways leave it open after washing, no mildew or smell. Everything comes out perfectly clean.❤
I bought my Kenmore washer in 1997. Its still working fine.
I have had my LG front load washer (WM0642HW) and matching dryer (DEL0442W) for 16 years with ZERO problems, NO smells, NO electronic failures, NO leaks or gasket issues. Hands down has been THE most reliable washer and dryer I have owned.
I've had my Sumsung for over 10 years with no problems to date. Love it and would purchase another one.
As a laundromat owner I will tell you that front loaders don't have a transmission which makes them more reliable, not less!
I have a Samsung washer top loader, dryer front loader. Love them both, no problems.
My elderly washing machine and dryer, from the very early eighties, is still going strong at the moment but I realize that I will need a new one soon, your tour of appliances is very helpful, I'm confident now I'll make a good choice
Front loaders can take large items like comforters, but they got to be kept clean and door open. They are less likely to damage clothes than a top load with agitator. If Speed Queen comes out with a single unit washer/dryer to compete with the GE and others, ill be happy to pay a premium.
Had a kenmore that lasted 30 years and cleaned clothes great for all those years. I moved and left it in that house. It could still be going for all i know.
I've had my Samsung washer and dryer for 9yrs I haven't had no problems.
I will be honest. Two years ago we purchased a top loader and dryer from LG. And we also bought a front loader and dryer for our master bedroom closet. We have had Sears service tech come out 4 times in the 2 years due to issue with front loaders. Meanwhile the top loaders are downstairs in the laundry room, and my kids abuse those machines. However they are still going strong. Not one single problem (knock on wood). I say that to say this gentleman is definitely giving us good information. And in my very own opinion, front loaders are pretty but they require a lot more maintenance.
I live in Australia and I have a Haier top loader without an agitator. It has all sorts of settings, like separate ones for sheets or towels. I use 'mixed' for everything but the delicates, which of course I use the 'delicates' setting for and occasionally I use the 'bulky' setting for blankets at the end of winter. Oh and I NEVER put it on 'auto' water level because it never puts in enough water for the wash to move easily and you can hear the motor straining. After 50 years of doing the laundry I know what level my machine needs to get things properly washed AND rinsed.
Bought an LG front loading washer and dryer nearly 8 years ago and have never had one issue. They are fantastic appliances and would definitely purchase again.
I have that GE washer you showed with the agitator. I bought it a year ago. It works good. The only thing I don't like is the water level. Even on max for the water setting, it only fills up halfway. Sometimes I add a bucket or 2 of extra water.
I've got a Roper. I've had it for years. It was inexpensive and pretty basic. Love it.
