So, it’s called aquagenic urticaria, and it’s a rare allergy that only affects the skin. You can still drink water and everything, but showering, swimming, sweating or crying might cause hives. My best friend used to suffer from it, but it seemed to lessen over time. As far as I’m aware, sometimes it just goes away or gets less severe on its own, and sometimes it doesn’t.

omg i actually have this too, its basically where if your skin comes in contact with water u start getting itchy and get red spots (at least for me and my mom) <3

I understand! Whenever I am in chlorine like a pool (saltwater or not) I break out in painful hives that last 2-3 days all over my body. I also get them when I am at the lake, ocean, or sweat. I can take showers and baths tho. I have had this ever since I was about 8.

Girl I have the same thing as you. Even the cold affects me. And if I’m to hot I get overheated I’m stuck. My parents don’t know if we should move to. ❤❤

My cousin has this problem too, but it affects the skin on her hands. Even her sweat will cause a reaction.

I have it too !! When I first discovered it I was terrified!! I don't know what it is but I only break out in pools and ocean, likes.. etc ! Water and shower are fine ! Same thing when I go into the cold .

i’m 13 i have this too my whole body gets hives and for me it’s kind of painful but yes it’s very annoying the only part that doesn’t get bothered is my face but everywhere else is really bad. i also have a intolerance to the cold and heat so that makes it worse.

OMG FINALLY IM NOT ALONE! I am struggling with this at 11 years old too (Im 13 now) and I remember that one Saturday at school my wrist got hives because I spilled water on it by accident and I got diagnosed with Aquagenic Urticaria that week :')

I have the exact same condition! i get it on my joints and it moves through my body slowly, also get it in hot/cold rooms or when my skin gets sweaty/touches sweat

Yeah my mom has that and it gets really bad on her legs and what she does is just cake them with Vaseline and then the water can’t get to it I guess idk lol
