The Taking Of Pelham One Two Three is the best movie of all time.

@Tuleyne

Walter Matthau and his son Charles were both clients of mine, both lived in Pacific Palisades. Walter was a very gregarious and nice person; his son, not so much. I told Walter that one of his lines in Charley Varrick made my Dad laugh so hard he almost broke a rib. He asked what it was, so I told him it was in the scene where he was in a Vegas hi-rise with a woman who had a round bed. The line was "I've never slept in a round bed, do you lay east, west, north or south?" When she replies, "Well, what did you have in mind?" he says "What I had in mind was boxing the compass," Walter admitted he didn't remember saying that but smiled and acknowledged that it was a funny line. RIP.

@contractmed1

2:51 I told that story to my relatives. They all found it hilarious, especially my great uncle.

@joannaedwards6325

I've been told that Matthau was extra kind to folks outside of Show Business.

@joopbos3398

Jack lemmon vondt ik ook altijd erg goed, en vooral samen met matau. Dan was het echt lachen om die 2❤😊

@nicolascocolios

Walter Matthau's jokes always crack me up.

@RafaelSoltren

The fortune cookie…. One of his best comedy……..😂😂😂

@JustMe-gh7ib

It's his eyes. Did you see The Taking of Pelham 123? When Matthau is exiting the room after seeing the guy he knows is guilty all he has to do is glance in his direction. Legend.

@draff1662

7:27 in the right hand top corner you can see the flashing signal NBC used to warn local affiliated stations to indicate an upcoming local commercial insert.

@BrianCrossman-w3k

I saw this episode recently on reruns. He's a great raconteur.

@jameshigginbottom3314

My uncle a Boston cop named John looked just like him. We always called him Waltah.

@michaellinner7772

Walter looked like he was 50, but walked like he was 90.

@varrick1226

What a great joke! RIP Walter.
