Great video. I appreciate that you didn't sugar coat the realities of living in Florida. Your observation of aggressive drivers in South Florida is right on the money! I grew up in Florida and I live in Los Angeles and surprisingly there are a lot less aggressive drivers in LA. 😃🌴😃
I would say this video is very accurate. I have lived here my whole life (53yrs) in Broward County. South Florida... to me if you like boating, fishing, eating, dining, shopping and have money... then you'll do fine. If you like peace and quiet or nature (woods) or want seasons.. then forget it. South Florida is sunny, extremely extremely hot and humid most of the year and we have no seasons at all. The heat and humidity can easily last until after Halloween. (yes we have beautiful weather Jan-April) We do worry about hurricanes mainly from August through October (with September being the worst).
Yep, welcome to my world living in Las Vegas..been here 12 years too long..but heck I’ll be here until my next game plan❤️happy new year’
Retired LA driver here. No joke on the driving. I don't ever take 95 to get around. I used to ride a motorcycle in CA - you couldn't pay me to ride a bike here. I've been here 2 1/2 years now and all in all it's been a good move. I'm surprised by the amount of crime here though. There is a LOT of neighborhood crime.
I lived in Fort Lauderdale Florida from 1959 to 2004. Unlike today it was Paradise.... All during the sixties and seventies you could not find a better place to grow up. Today im 100 miles north, in a place that reminds me of Fort Lauderdale in the 70's.
Great stuff. I've was in Tampa last Summer and it was tough at times with the heat/humidity...but is it really any worse than a 95 degree day with 100% humidity in NY/NJ? Man, I worked in Manhattan for years and was dripping wet before 9am in my office. Lol. As for driving, the NYC area (mostly the boroughs and Long Island) has never seen so many car wrecks than in the last 2 years since weed become legal. Everyday cars flipping over. Never had that before. Also up here every street just about has a speed camera, even in quiet side streets. If you hit 35mph it's a 50$ ticket. Also car ins. up here has to be much higher I would imagine vs. FL.
Thanks man, I'm Really appreciate your explanation about the city, God Bless You.
I was in F Lauderdale just couple of weeks ago, the traffic was really surprising... to put it in a nice way. Wasn't expecting it coming from Chicago, where streets can get pretty crazy too! 😄 #patience
Salaries have increased here dramatically. Average income of people living downtown is $146,600 (up 20% from a year ago). I’m sure it depends on different fields…
Every single relatable source like yours says that traffic and drivers are horrible. Well, everything has its price it seems. But thank you for the video - you have a pleasant personality and explained a lot of things deeply. Question: I want to move from NY in May this year - how hard it usually is and how long it gets to get approved with the lease and such? Thank you!
It took me four hours to get from Fort Lauderdale to Key West? That 35 mph speed limit irked me. Lol! I want to move to Fort Lauderdale so bad. I tried a few years ago, but I didn’t have the hussle in me. I really want to try again.
Driver's don't use blinkers AT ALL.
Hi sir I hope you read this, I’m planning to go there for a training at bluewater crew Training but problem is I don’t have a car, is the transportation there good or maybe I can use like bicycle?
Love the pet friendly atmosphere. 😀 Right on.
Thanks
Finding and paying high premiums for home insurance is definitely a negative.
Hi from Wilton Manors 🌴🔅
Thanks for the video 🙏 you can’t have it all
Nothing beats the no state income tax! I live in NYC and you basically lose 10% of your income living in NYC
