Born in 1960 I remember the black and white tv we had when I grew up, Edmond O'Brien was such a great actor, he played in one of Gagneys big hit movies, he's great on this as well. This is a treat. Thank you.
This is a masterpiece. The suspense and the tone of the film was kept up to the end. WoW4 What an amazing story, cast direction and music.
I felt the outdoor city scenes really helped capture the era and Americana. I also especially liked him running through the streets in his initial terror, I thought that was powerful cinematography. Thank you CCC
One helluva movie!!! Too bad they don't make em like this anymore.
This is a great example of a nightmare in black and white. It's one of the best film noirs of the post WWII era. Excellent cast. Excellent performances. Great director (Rudolph Mate'.) Thanks, Cult Cinema Classics.
One of the best noirs, could watch it over n over
The jazz band in the movie was led by saxophone player James Streeter. Other band members were Shifty Henry (bass), Alex “Cake” Wichard (drums), Ray LaRue (piano) and Teddy Buckner (trumpet).
Such an excellent movie anything Edmond O'Brien is in is well worth the watch.
Fantastic Film 🎥 thanks for sharing!! And I really hope this gets a Blu-ray soon it really is A Wonderful Super Enjoyable Film Noir!!
This is the best thing O'Brien ever did. Great script, great movie, as good as film noir every is😊. It's never been done better 😊.
WHAT GIVES WITH THE PUMP WHISTLE ALMOST KILLED IT FOR ME
This was gorgeously shot and paced. A phenomenal film noir, probably my favorite so far. I was glued throughout, lots of action and suspense. 👍
One of the kind....Only the end was sad....And Paula was such a lovely young woman....We close our eyes and go deep in the past...
I can't wait, Edmond Obrien is a 10
I remember seeing it and being glued to my seat as a kid. Always wanted to see it again. Thanks!
Thank you for this movie, which is the second time I've seen it, I saw it 2 years ago, excellent.
Fantastic film. Huge fan of Mr. Obrien. What a career he had. He did "Julius Caesar" with Gielgud, Brando, Tom Powers ("Double Indemnity"), and James Mason.
DOA is one of the best in the Film Noir genre. I watch it every once in a while. Also, the settings, Fisherman's Warf in that period, and L.A., with tumbleweeds! Absolutely a Cult Classic!
Can you believe it Edmond o brien. Played in one of the best western. WILD BUNCH 😊
