as a mechanic for 35 years i must say this list is SERIOUSLY flawed. newer suburbans and f-150s unfortunately have no place on any reliability list. its shocking they would be included with their transmission, engine and emission system problems (def systems anyone). any newer vehicles with their excessive electronic/computer systems, profit first/planned obsolescence and the part replacement instead of maintenence/repair mentality will never truthfully be reliable long term. two words - "maintenance cost".
I have a 2000 v6 Camry with 302,000 miles on it and still counting. I have replaced the struts. Other that it's just had regular oil changes. Still runs and drives like a champ. I've thought about getting another car , but then I come to my senses. Being car payment free is amazing
Iāve owned a FORD F-150, I would NOT put this vehicle on any āmost reliableā list. (other than to reliably drain your wallet)
I had a 1984 Pontiac Grand Prix that was by far the best car I've ever owned, still running on the original drivetrain at 400,000 miles. It lived long and well until I gave it to my 16-year-old son who somehow destroyed it within months. RIP Pontiac Grand Prix.
3800 GM V6 enters the chat.
Iām a car guy. I was a service manager. This list is totally ridiculous because many of these cars are well known by mechanics as total junk. This guy must know nothing about cars and trucks.
I got 2007 toyota corolla with 300k miles. Never. NEVER been at the shop. Just put gas and go. Love it
Over my adult lifetime, Iāve owned 8 Toyotas. I currently own two, although one of them is a Scion tC. Although Iāve never broken the 200k mile mark with any of them, none of them has ever broken down. A couple of ancillary things have needed replacement, but zero serious breakdowns since I first bought my 1979 Celica. That was number one.
My 1971 F250 390 C6 has 759,000 on it. It just got hit two months back and got the cab broken loose from the frame. I guess it's days are over. What was really the best was having that large V8 in it and I could still stand in the engine bay to work on it.
This is a dumb list. Inaccuracies abound.
I have a 2008 Honda Accord right now that is still going with no problems but, there is no doubt in my mind the longest lasting vehicle is the Volvo 240 with regular maintenance these cars are built so smart and so well that they last longer than anything
Honda Element with the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine would run and run and run, a TRUE, easy to use Utility Vehicle.
1996 GEO Prizm owner here. Rebadged Corolla. Bought new, just went over 517,000 miles. Best car ever.
My 2011 Honda Accord with 225k miles still running strong!
I own a 1977 volvo 240 that still runs on its original drive train, engine and 4 speed gear box. This car deserves to be in the top 5
Latest Honda C-RVs with 1.5 liter turbo engines are plagued with "oil dilution" problems all over the world without recalls.
Nissan vehicles are šmy favorite.
2nd owner if 1995 Audi A6, I've owned and daily driven this Audi for nearly 300,000 Miles without any major issues. 2.8 liter V6 with a 4 speed Auto, still a great car and a joy to drive.
My SAAB 99 GLE was well built, good fit and finish and tough as a rhino, comfortable too.
