Zack, We did not need 400 hp to have fun in the 80s.🤩🤩

@markc1925

I had an '87 that was an absolute blast to drive. You really had to make an effort to have things go wrong in a corner.
Unfortunately it succumbed to the rust belt worm infestation. I miss that car dearly. Great video, Zack.

Edit - they do surprisingly well in the snow!

@WildWildWeasel

That MR2 was the mintiest of the mint.

@davidp2888

That car's ridiculously clean.

@aenoymotors

My mom had one of these brand new... Had to get rid of it because she couldn't get out of it while she was pregnant with me haha.

@GoopRoppongi

Oh my beloved, owning a aw11s been the best feeling that ive ever had

@marcberm

I learned to drive stick on my friend's old MR2 back in the late 90's!!

@dmousetenmosiman

I know they are a pain to maintain but pop up lights are just the best. Love this excellent example!

@highlycaffeinated6864

Love seeing this review. One of my first car purchases was a 5 year old at the time 1988 supercharged MR2. I absolutely loved that car and eventually replaced it with a second generation MR2 Turbo. Both cars were super impractical but man I loved them, super quirky and so much fun to drive. Would love to own either one of them again if I can find one in really good shape with lower miles.

@GuntanksInSpace

Damn, it still looks so amazing after all these years. True classic car right there!

@danmccarthy4700

I'm not usually a huge fan of rear spoilers, even on sports cars but the original MR2 really looks incomplete without it.

@chriscazares5161

Love the MR2! One of my favorite cars of my youth. Welcome to Indianapolis! I’ve seen this car around town.

@Just1American1966

A buddy of mine and I both drove 80s Toyota 4x4 trucks back then. One day, he up and went and traded his in on one of these. That thing was a go-cart. I was amazed at how long it took to need to shift gears after being used to the tall gears in the trucks.

The Mister-Two was a competitor (somewhat) to the Pontiac Fiero, albeit with one noticeable exception: both headlights on the Toyota would go up and down together. ;-)

I used to say that one doesn't "get into" one of these cars; one "puts it on".

@rainercourtney4616

I have one almost exactly like this one, an 85 in white, but mine has the wing. Its been V6 swapped and now I'm just about to put the engine back in. I can't wait to drive it

@FrequencyORD

This car is a perfect representation of the 80s and I love it!

@boldcitycc

I had an 87 , dark deep blue with t-tops, side skirts. Best looking one in my city. I revved it out a lot. It really did seem to love it. Never burned a drop of oil. My favorite car I ever owned. And it was actually quick in that era. Slow now of course, but i beat several cars with v 8s back then. Iis very light. The spoiler definitely makes it look a lot better. It makes the look flow. The flat deck here without it just doesnt look riht to me

@16bmidniterfoxo

I'm a simple man, I see an AW11 and I will like and enjoy the video. Cheers!

@maxeluy

In the parking lot in front of my work was one, red, low mileage 100% standard and own by a 70ish man. He was very proud of his MR2 and he had reason, was showroom condition.

@DanFeko

Mr. 2 love it!

@bwofficial1776

That's a nice-looking MR2. I like how wedgy it is. In my area they're commonly called the Mister 2.
