Ummm ... your expert is wrong about the Supercharged XLR-V only having "30 or 40 more horsepower" than the XLR and being the "same" engine. Though the Northstar was derived from the Lotus / Mercury Marine LT5 DOHC monster in the C4 ZR-1, the Northstar is not your typical Chevy 350 (5.7 Liter). The Supercharged 4.4 Liter Northstar in the XLR-V is quite different from the naturally asperated 4.6 engine. Due to significantly increased engine loading and thermal stresses on the 4.4 SC, piston assemblies, rings, rods and bearings are upgraded to higher quality parts. Engine dyno's rate the XLR 4.6 Liter (280 Cubic Inch) naturally-asperated Northstar V-8 at 320 HP. Dyno numbers for the 4.4 (Only 268 Cubic Inches!) Supercharged Northstar in the XLR-V are 443 HP. That's an additional 123 HP ... not "only 30 or 40 more". Also, the Eaton roots-style Supercharger requires @130 HP to spin up to maximum boost, so the engine basically has to produce @ 570+ HP to show 443 on the dyno after the Supercharger steals 130. Few people know that a Top Fuel dragster Supercharger steals @ 1,000 HP from the engine to operate at maximum boost. ;-)

Do you have any idea how to open the car when the battery is dead and the key in the rear bumper turns but will not unlock the trunk? I'm really at a loss!!! Thanks!
